The Cathedral of the Infinite Scroll

For the Festival of Lights Berlin 2025, RE:SORB turned Charlottenburg Palace into a luminous cathedral of data, likes and algorithms that collapses into darkness and is reborn as organic light.

For the Festival of Lights Berlin 2025, RE:SORB transformed the baroque façade of Charlottenburg Palace into a luminous altar of data and algorithms. The show opens as a radiant cathedral of likes, feeds and notifications, then spirals into the hypnotic loop of the infinite scroll — where even a human hand dissolves into pixels the moment it touches the surface.

When the cathedral finally collapses into darkness, space opens up for organic waves of light and a slow, rhythmic pulse: a return to the essentials. The piece reflects on our devotion to machines, the loss of human presence in the attention economy and the possibility of renewal beyond the algorithm.

RE:SORB was one of three international studios invited to present 3D video mappings on the palace, alongside The Fox, The Folks (Indonesia) and ANIONA VISION (Romania).
