Services
Projection mapping, holograms and immersive spaces.
From the first sketch to the last frame on the façade: RE:SORB delivers concept, 3D content, media technology and on-site realisation as one team. Artistic and technical service under one roof — for festivals, cities, cultural institutions and brands worldwide.

3D Projection Mapping
Monuments, façades, bridges, castles and stages become moving architecture.
Our core discipline since the first mapping installations of 2007. We survey the building, rebuild it as a precise 3D model and create show content that uses every column, window and roofline — from award-winning festival pieces at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, mappings of Charlottenburg Palace and the opening shows of the Sharjah Light Festival (2023–2026) to large multi-projector systems such as the 48-projector show at the Mall of Berlin.
- Façade & monument mapping
- Multi-projector system design and calibration
- Storytelling, 3D animation and sound design
- Festival competitions and city light festivals

Holographic & Volumetric Installations
Real 3D canvases of monumental size — images that hover in mid-air.
RE:SORB developed its own family of holographic lightfields: multiplexed volumetric light, water screens and layered fog that fabricate three-dimensional form in mid-air — ÆTHER, BEYOND, Depth/100 and Tessellation. The result is the illusion of near-infinite depth: tactile, walk-in spaces where light takes on form and audiences step inside the image, with no headsets, no glasses and no LED.
- Fog, water-screen and multiplexed lightfield holograms
- Site-responsive volumetric projection on architecture
- Walk-in and interactive hologram spaces
- Combined indoor–outdoor experiences

Immersive Spaces & 360° Experiences
Fused indoor and outdoor environments that surround the visitor completely.
360° projection, sphere and dome projection, mirror rooms and multi-sensory environments — from the Omnisphere and the projection sphere at Garbicz to clubs like AgeHa in Tokyo, the UNESCO World Heritage site on the Rhine and entire mountainsides in the Middle East. We design the space, the content and the technology as one holistic sensory environment.
- 360° and dome / sphere projection
- Mirror rooms and multi-sensory spaces
- Permanent installations for venues and museums
- Interactive and sensor-driven content

Festival & Stage Visuals
From main stages to walk-in structures — mapping that moves with the music.
RE:SORB brought the first mapping visuals to psytrance festivals in 2007 and has since worked with Boom, Ozora, Fusion, Glastonbury, Tribal Gathering and many more. We build and map stage structures and pavilions, create generative content and perform live, so the visuals follow the music all night.
- Stage design and structure mapping
- Generative, music-reactive content
- Live visuals and show control
- Custom pavilions and zomes

Brand Activations & Events
Product launches, openings and ceremonies that people remember.
For brands and institutions including Netflix, Sony, Samsung, Volkswagen, Hennessy, Vodafone, Red Bull, Electronic Arts, Lacoste, Tiffany & Co., Hannover Messe and CeBIT, we create activations that turn a building, a stage or an object into the centrepiece of the event — including the opening ceremonies of Hannover Messe and CeBIT.
- Launch and opening shows
- Corporate ceremonies and trade fairs
- Retail and mall façades
- Content for LED, projection and hybrid setups

Media Technology & Hardware
RE:SORB Mediatech: projectors, media servers, sensors and custom hardware.
Our Berlin-based technology unit plans and operates the complete technical setup — projector selection and placement, media servers and playback, calibration, interactive sensors and pioneering custom hardware. We also advise other studios, agencies and venues on feasibility, site surveys and technical concepts.
- Projector and media server systems
- Site surveys, calibration and show control
- Interactive sensors and custom hardware
- Technical consulting for agencies and venues
How we work
From brief to opening night.
- 01
Brief & site survey
We start with your goals, the venue and the audience. Photos, plans and a site visit tell us what the surface can do — and what technology it needs.
- 02
Concept & previsualisation
Storyline, visual language and a 3D previs of the show on a model of the building, so you see the idea before production starts.
- 03
Production
3D modelling, animation, sound design and — where needed — the physical structure. Everything is produced in-house or with our long-standing partners.
- 04
On-site realisation
Projector setup, mapping, calibration and show control on location. We run the show, from rehearsals to the last night.
FAQ
Questions we hear a lot.
What is 3D projection mapping?
3D projection mapping (also called video mapping or façade mapping) uses high-power projectors and content that is precisely tailored to the geometry of a building or object. Because the animation matches every edge, window and column, the surface appears to move, break open or change material — the architecture itself becomes the show.
Where does RE:SORB work?
Worldwide. The studio is based in Berlin and Tbilisi and has realised shows across Europe, Russia, Japan, Mexico, India, the Middle East and Central America. Media technology is planned and shipped from Berlin, or sourced locally with our partners.
How long does a projection mapping project take?
A festival-scale façade show typically needs six to twelve weeks from brief to opening night, depending on the length of the show, the complexity of the building and whether a physical structure has to be built. Shorter pieces and activations can be produced faster — talk to us about your timeline.
What do you need from us to start?
A brief with the occasion, date and venue; photos or plans of the surface; and information on access, power and the position where projectors can be placed. We take care of the site survey, the technical concept and all content.
Do you provide the projectors and technology?
Yes. RE:SORB Mediatech plans and operates the complete setup — projectors, media servers, calibration and show control. We can also work with your technical partners or a venue’s existing infrastructure.
Can the show be interactive?
Yes. Interactive and sensor-driven installations have been part of our work since the studio was founded — from movable mapped structures to touch- and motion-reactive content and holographic spaces that respond to visitors.
Do you also create permanent installations?
Yes. Alongside festival and event shows we design permanent mapping and hologram installations for clubs, museums, venues and retail spaces, including the structure itself.
Let’s talk about your venue.
Send us the occasion, date and a photo of the surface — we will reply with a first concept.
