Tape Art Mapping — Tape Over

RE:SORB stumbled upon this tape art sculpture by the Berlin-based artists Tape Over at the Plötzlich am Meer festival in Poland and decided to make something with it.

The animation was created in a single afternoon on site using Cinema 4D — a quick, playful mapping that lets the taped geometry come alive.

Projection mapping starts from the surface itself. The content is built to the planes and edges that are already there, so the projected image sits on the geometry rather than across it. In this case the surface was not a building façade but a sculpture made of tape.
