At Boom Festival 2023 in Portugal, RE:SORB staged ‘ISHQ’ — a multilayer waterscreen installation in which figures of light appear to hover in mid-air over several layered water screens, close enough for visitors to walk up to and around.

Building on this installation, Stefan Ihmig found that fog positioned farther behind a waterscreen could carry imagery with a perceived quality comparable to an additional water surface — the observation behind the hybrid water-and-fog method of BEYOND.
