Bolshoi meets Staatsoper — Staatsoper Hannover

For the first Hannover Leuchtet in 2018, RE:SORB adapted its prize-winning show from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow to the neoclassical façade of the Staatsoper Hannover: ‘Bolshoi meets Staatsoper’, on digitalisation and Leibniz.

For the first Hannover Leuchtet, 14–18 November 2018, RE:SORB brought ‘Bolshoi meets Staatsoper’ to the wide neoclassical façade of the Staatsoper Hannover, one of the city’s architectural landmarks: its prize-winning show from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, adapted to the building, with digitalisation and Leibniz as its themes.

The show works with the opera house’s rhythm of arcades, columns and windows, opening the building up into a stage of light.

RE:SORB provided the concept, the 3D animation and the projection mapping itself.
