Gendarmenmarkt — Berlin leuchtet 2014

During the international light art festival ‘Berlin leuchtet 2014’, RE:SORB illuminated the Gendarmenmarkt, the historic heart of Berlin-Mitte.

During the international light art festival ‘Berlin leuchtet 2014’, RE:SORB illuminated one of the best-known historic squares in the inner city of Berlin. The Gendarmenmarkt is the historic heart of the new Berlin-Mitte.

The strong scattered light on site made the projection a demanding task.

The show ran during the festival in October 2014. The projected surface was the columned façade of the Konzerthaus, with the Schiller monument standing in front of it.

Gendarmenmarkt was not the studio's only site at ‘Berlin leuchtet 2014’. During the same edition RE:SORB also mapped the full length of the rain-cover ceiling at the Neues Kranzler Eck in Berlin's City West, where the projections ran for three weeks. The Gendarmenmarkt show is one of the works in the studio's 2015 showreel.
