Charlottenburg Palace — Festival of Lights 2020–2024

RE:SORB has returned to Charlottenburg Palace at the Festival of Lights Berlin year after year since 2020 — five shows on the baroque façade and its tower before “The Cathedral of the Infinite Scroll” in 2025.

RE:SORB has returned to Charlottenburg Palace at the Festival of Lights Berlin year after year since 2020. The baroque façade with its central tower — Berlin’s largest palace — has carried five different RE:SORB shows before “The Cathedral of the Infinite Scroll” in 2025.

The first, in 2020, was “Tabula Smaragdina”: a journey from the microscopic to the vastness of the cosmos, shown between the festival’s three Special Award shows.

The documentation here shows the 2022 show, “The Conscious Machine” by Stefan Ihmig and John Tettenborn, filmed in front of the palace. The 2021 show let the building dissolve into blue and violet light.

The 2023 show was called PERPLEXITY. It ran on the palace façade as part of the festival’s “Colours of Life” Award competition.
