Oberbaumbrücke

A 3D mapping on the twin towers and arches of the Oberbaumbrücke, Berlin’s most iconic bridge.

The twin brick towers of the Oberbaumbrücke in Berlin illuminated in orange, red and blue by a projection mapping, reflected in the river Spree Loads the player from Vimeo (do-not-track mode).

The Oberbaumbrücke, the double-deck bridge with two brick towers that links Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain across the Spree, is one of Berlin’s most photographed landmarks. RE:SORB mapped it — a ‘secret mapping on a bridge’, as the studio called it.

The show plays with the bridge’s neo-Gothic brickwork: dissolving the towers into light, rebuilding them in colour and letting the whole structure appear to move over the river, mirrored in the water below.

The content is then built around what is there: the arches and the brickwork of the two towers. RE:SORB's own media technology unit sits in Berlin, so this was a mapping in the studio's home city.
